PERUGGIA

The 31th of March, Sunday, we went to Perugia to spent the day visiting the city. We woke up at 8 and we took a train to Perugia. When we were in the way to Perugia,we got out in a wrong stop but we took again the train. We arrived to Perugia around 10:30 and we started the visit with a guide. Perugia is a old city and a part of the old city is underground because a Papa destroyed the whole city for create his fortress. There is a big famous horse that a rich men gave to the city. We went to a viewpoint and we sang a song there because the guide told us that people normally sing there. A girl, a cultural event organizer , saw us singing and she liked a lot and she asked to take a picture with us. Then, we went to have lunch in a beautiful restaurant and they gave us a free desert in exchange for singing. After, we had free time on our behalf to visit more Perugia and we bought an icecream that was really good. That day in Perugia there was a market and a exposition of old cars and there were too many pretty and different cars. Around six we went to the train station for returning to Foligno. This time, we also got out of the train wrong and we spent 25 minutes waiting for the next train in the middel of nowhere. We laughed a lot when we realised that we where in the wrong place. We arrived to the hotel and some families where waiting for us to take us to the reception in the school. They sang 2 songs and the director of the school and the mayor gave a speech to give us the wellcome. We sang a song too and Idoia played the Trikitixa and we all sang some songs. The children prepared a presentation of the important cities of Italy. After the wellcome we had dinner in the school and there was lot of traditional Italian food that parents prepared for us. When we finished the dinner the children prepared a “zumba” class and we all danced together. All the school was full of pictures and information of Navarre and Atarrabia. Moreover, they knew the story of our ikastola and they explained to us, they were very informed of our culture and traditions. Around 11 the parents took us again to the Hostel and in that moment our long day finished, we had fun during all the day.
